You may have never heard of LA DAME BLANCHE, but you've definitely heard her singing. She's the female voice on many, if not most, Sergent Garcia recordings. Previously known by her birth name, Yaite Ramos is of Afro-Cuban royal lineage (her father is trombonist and maestro director at Buena Vista Social Club) and she frequently collaborates in the live sound system performances of Argentine nu-combia pioneer El Hijo de la Cumbia.
She’s currently embarking on a solo career under the new moniker La Dame Blanche (that’s French for The White Lady). The project claims its origins in the traditions of the urban music. Hip hop, Reggae, Latin Beats and certainly Nu Cumbia are all fertile playgrounds for her.
