Synopsis

Presents how rock and roll came to the Dominican Republic through the radio by Ellis Perez in 1953 and then the performances of Bill Haley and his Comets in the years 1958-1960. During those years rock and roll groups by young Dominicans were formed. The first historically recorded, Robert Rock and his Meteors, then Walterio Coll and his Dominican Boys, The Conquerors of Santiago, The Happy Boys, The Creators and so on, more groups were continuously flourishing.

The documentary then shows the change towards the New Wave when the Trujillo regime was dissolved, with groups like Los Románticos (later the Masters), X6, CC, Snobs, Iron Fire, Los Dinamicos (later Brahmins), among many others who played during the decade of the 60s and many continued until the 70s. Already with groups like Karma, Rítmicos, Power Free, Helium and many more.

Sinopsis

La historia presenta cómo el rock and roll llegó a la República Dominicana a través de la radio, de la mano de Ellis Pérez, en 1953, y posteriormente con las presentaciones de Bill Haley y sus Comets entre 1958 y 1960. Durante esos años comenzaron a formarse agrupaciones de rock and roll integradas por jóvenes dominicanos. La primera registrada históricamente fue Robert Rock y sus Meteors, seguida por Walterio Coll y sus Dominican Boys, The Conquerors of Santiago, The Happy Boys, The Creators y muchas otras bandas que continuaron surgiendo.

Luego se muestra la transición hacia la Nueva Ola tras la disolución del régimen de Trujillo, con agrupaciones como Los Románticos —más tarde The Masters—, X6, CC, Snobs, Iron Fire y Los Dinámicos —posteriormente Brahmins—, entre muchas otras que tocaron durante la década de 1960 y, en numerosos casos, continuaron activas hasta los años 70. En esta etapa también surgieron grupos como Karma, Rítmicos, Power Free, Helium y muchos más.
