“Bachateria: From the Fields to the Palace,” a live concert event celebrating and documenting the rich history, founding heroes, and future stars of the globally expanding genre of Bachata music.

The United Palace announces the second year of “Bachateria with a special guest  “El Chaval de la Bachata,” an award-winning Dominican singer and songwriter. Also featured during the concert are rising Bachata stars Judy Santos, J-Fab Y Paola Fabré, DNX4, Frias, Chavi Leons, and Optimo, all of whom continue to push the musical genre forward through their live music and digital presence.

Originating in the rural poverty of the Dominican Republic in the 1950s, Bachata has since become an international sensation. The vision for the concert and additional public programming is to entertain and educate the community while celebrating and preserving the cultural history of the music.

“The United Palace has been an important stop along the careers of so many famous bachata performers that we wanted to celebrate that legacy while thanking the community for supporting the growth of the genre all these years,” said Mike Fitelson, executive director of the United Palace of Cultural Arts, which is producing the event. "It’s our fun way of saying ‘thank you’.”
